The history of the port

The town of Porto Vecchio is located on the south coast of the French island and was founded by the Genoese in 1539. Today it is one of the most coveted tourist destinations, so much so as to be defined the Saint Tropez of Corsica.

Framed by typical Mediterranean vegetation, it offers its guests some of the island’s best known beaches, such as Santa Giulia and Palombaggia.

Walking around the village, you can choose to visit the different monuments and buildings, both civil and religious. You can see the Genoese tower in the upper part, or, alternatively, walk through the alleys and enjoy the peace and quiet of the place.

Porto Vecchio presents its visitors with very suggestive scenery with its rocks overlooking the Mediterranean, the white sand beaches and the sea with its transparent waters from the unique seabed.
