Algajola beach: for a day of sport and relaxation in Ile-Rousse

A beach with a double soul. On the one hand, it is suitable for a trip with children. On the other hand, it is a sort of small paradise for all water sports lovers. A place that is therefore able to satisfy all holidaymakers a little: this is Algajola beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica.

The beach

Sandy, very large, close to the town of the same name, a calm and clean sea: for all these reasons, the beach of Algajola is recommended above all for a family holiday and for those who want to stay away from the crowded Calvi. Furthermore Algajola, between the beaches of Ile-Rousse and surroundings, is especially recommended for those who want to spend a holiday dedicated to total relaxation.

The locality

Algajola was an ancient fortified Genoese stronghold. After seeing the beach, a visit to its narrow streets is highly recommended.

Sport

Like almost all the beaches of the north coast of Corsica, there are also many sports activities in Algajola, such as windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, wakeboarding, water skiing, surfing, snorkeling and diving. Especially kitesurfing: this is one of the best sports in Corsica.

How to get

Getting to Algajola beach is simple: it is located at a short distance from Ile-Rousse, to reach it from the town center just take the N197 towards Calvi (therefore better to embark a car or a motorbike on the ferry). Algajola beach is well indicated.

Even reaching Ile-Rousse is very simple: it is, in fact, one of the most important ports for ferries to Corsica as well as one of the main tourist destinations along the entire north coast of the island of beauty.
