A beach with two souls. On one side, it is recommended during a holiday with children. On the other side, it is a paradise for water sports. This is the beach of Algajola, among the most beautiful of the Ile-Rousse.
The beach – Sandy, very large, near the homonymous town, with calm and clean sea: for all these reasons, Algajola beach is recommended for a vacation with the whole family, and for those who want to stay away from Calvi (always very crowded in summer).
The town – Algajola was an ancient Genoese fortress. After seeing the beach, you can visit its suggestive and evocative streets.
Sport – As almost all the beaches of the north coast of Corsica, there are several sports that can be practiced at Algajola, such as windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, wakeboarding, water skiing, surfing, snorkeling and diving. And especially kite: this is one of the best spots of Corsica.
How to get there – It’s very easy to arrive at Algajola beach: it is near Ile-Rousse. To reach the beach from the town, just take the N197 road towards Calvi (it is recommended to move with a car or a motorcycle, carried on the ferryboat). The beach of Algajola is well indicated.
