For a relaxing day or for a day with family: cala Rossa beach, Corsica

You have chosen the destination of your next vacation. And now you are wondering where you can find the best sea of Corsica. You don’t want a “normal” sea: you’d like to see at least one of the paradisiacal places for which this island is famous in the world. If your holiday will be on Corsica south coast, there is beach that has all the characteristics you’re looking for: it’s cala Rossa.

The beach

Cala Rossa is in the bay of Porto Vecchio. Famous since the 70s (and in the decades his fame has only increased), it is a sandy beach overlooking a fabulous sea and with small rocks that emerge from the water. From Cala Rossa you can admire the bay of Porto Vecchio.

The characteristics for which this beach is famous are essentially three:

• It’s easy to reach, especially by car
• It’s one of south Corsica most beautiful beaches
• There are several services on the beach

For these reasons, the beach of cala Rossa is recommended for those who want to spend a relaxing day and for those who are planning a holiday with family. It has only one flaw: it is always very crowded during high season.

How to get to cala Rossa

Porto Vecchio is the main town near the beach. To geto to cala Rossa, take the N198 road towards north, the D468 towards cala Rossa and then the D468A road.
