Discover Corsica with camper: the tips for your on-the-road holiday

The camper is your inseparable travel companion and the next trip to the island of beauty will certainly not be an exception. Are you looking for ideas and information to enjoy your holiday in Corsica with camper? Here there are our tips to plan the vacation in the best way.

The ferries

Take a camper on the ferries to Corsica is easy. Using our online booking system (which you can find on the right), you only have to select the option “With a vehicle”, specifying model and size of the camper.

Once booked the ferry journey, remember that:

  • You must be at the boarding point about two hours before departure;
  • Only the driver can drive the camper inside the ferry;
  • During the crossing, you can’t reach the camper (so take with you everything you might need for the entire journey);
  • About two hours before the arrival, the driver will have to reach the camper to prepare for the landing operations.

Rest areas

In Corsica, there are several rest areas for your camper but, to really enjoy the holiday, the best solution is the camping villages. This island is large, its nature is spectacular and, consequently, even the camping villages are many. However, it is possible to give you good tips. You will find several camping villages near the four main towns of the island:

  • Ajaccio;
  • Bonifacio;
  • Bastia;
  • Calvi.

From each of these points you can start with your camper to discover the island of beauty.

Where to go

We repeat: Corsica is large, its nature is spectacular and the places to discover with your camper are several. And these are the four that we recommend:

  • The Corsican peninsula;
  • The desert of Agriates;
  • The east coast;
  • The south coast.

With children

Corsica is the ideal destination for a holiday with children. Even with camper. In this case, the recommended itineraries are along the east coast and along the south coast for a very specific reason: you will always be near villages and cities, so you will find all the services you might need.

With dogs

Last but not least, you have to know that Corsica is a dog-friendly island and that your four-legged friend will always be welcome to camping villages and beaches. Remember, however, to have leash, muzzle and plastic bags to collect dog’s poop.
