Corsica: better to get there by ferry or plane?

How to get to Corsica? This is usually the very first question that arises who has chosen to visit the island of beauty. The available solutions are essentially two. And, in fact, at this precise moment you are undecided: is the trip preferable to take it by plane or by ferry?

Here’s how things are.

By plane?

Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari: these are the four international airports of Corsica, which are located near some of the larger cities. However, before deciding to arrive in Corsica by plane, there are some aspects that you must consider:

  • There are very few direct flights from Italy to Corsica: by air, by (almost) always calling at another airport, the duration of the journey may become too long.
  • Always because the flights are few, even the cost of the ticket is likely to be high while booking in advance, so you will end up with any claim to save on travel.

Not surprisingly, very few people choose the plane.

Better by ferry

If, however, the ferry is the most used means to arrive in Corsica, there will be a reason. Indeed, there are several.

  • First of all, the ferries leave from some of the main Italian ports;
  • There are several departures distributed throughout the day, in this way you will have maximum flexibility to decide when and at what time to leave;
  • You can take a car on the ferry, which will allow you to move freely when you arrive at your destination;
  • Finally, because there are so many races, by booking in advance you can also take advantage of the most advantageous offers and save a lot of money on the ticket price.

And then, do not forget that you can travel at night, so you do not miss even one day of your holiday.
