Ajaccio: a journey in the scents and colors of the fish market

The things to see in Ajaccio are several, this is commonly known. Moreover, this city was the birthplace of Napoleon, the First French Emperor. And its beaches are among the most popular on the island. Yet, between a fabulous sea and an unforgettable sunset, try to carve out time to visit a place (at least) unique: it is the fish market of Ajaccio, in Corsica.

So, you are near Place Foch, in the central part of Ajaccio. Here, a colorful and noisy outdoor market takes place, a market where you can find everything. Then, moving toward the town hall, you will find another market, covered this time.

Well, here you will visit a very, very particular market. As you’ll notice as you enter, there aren’t the traditional counters as we usually see. Instead there will be several tubs of various sizes. Because this fish market is “specialized” only in the sale of lobsters.

And here you will not find other. In other words, if you’d like to cook and prepare a lobster, this is the fish market where you have to come: lobsters are fresh and of course delicious. For more information, visit the official website of the city of Ajaccio, Ajaccio.fr.
