Cap Corse, the peninsula on the north coast of the island, is not only a beautiful place to see. It also has a renowned tradition of wine. And, on July 11 and 12, in the village of Luri, an event will make all the visitors discover this tradition: it’s A fiera di u vinu 2015, the most important Corsican wine fair.
White, rosé, red, Muscat wines: these are the real protagonists of A fiera di u vinu 2015, offered by wine producers that come from all parts of Corsica for this event. It’s a precious opportunity to discover not only wines but also craft products and food on the island.
As you surely know, wine needs food to be really appreciated. Since you are spending this holiday on the “Island of Beauty” (and there’s a good reason for which the island has this nickname, as you can see from its several beaches), it would be a shame if you don’t taste some of Corsica traditional dishes: for example, aziminu, agneau Corse, veau aux olives, civet de sanglier.
As already said, A fiera di u vinu 2015 will be inaugurated in the village of Luri, in the heart of the so-called “finger of Corsica” (the Corsican peninsula). The main town near Luri is Bastia, on the north coast of the island. To get from Bastia to Luri, take the D80 road towards north and then the D180 road towards west.
