Short trip in Corsica: spending 3 days on the island of beauty

June is a great month for a holiday. And this means a good opportunity for a pleasant short trip in 2017. For this year, what about visiting Corsica and discover the reason for which this place is known as “the island of beauty”.

If you’d like to have a sort of overview of the best that this island has to offer to all its visitors, we can suggest a three-day itinerary that will make you visit the south coast and the west coast of the island of beauty.

In particular, the three stages (one per day) of this itinerary are:

1. Bonifacio;
2. Porto Vecchio;
3. Ajaccio.

What will you see in these three days? Corsica will enchant you with heavenly beaches, picturesque towns overlooking the sea, archaeological sites, small islands where you can admire fabulous sunsets.

The mountains

Even if all this is very interesting for a holiday, you’re great mountain enthusiasts and the first things put in your suitcase are the hiking boots. Again, Corsica has exactly what you need to plan the holiday you desire.

In fact, the main mountains of Corsica are six:

• Monte Grosso;
• Monte Cinto;
• Monte d’Oro;
• Paglia Orba;
• Monte Renoso;
• Monte Rotondo.

Here, you’ll find several paths and mountain huts.

The north coast

The starting point is Calvi, famous for its beautiful citadel. You’ll spend the second day in Ile-Rousse, little paradise of beaches and tranquillity. On the third day, you’ll discover the so-called desert of Corsica and you’ll arrive in Saint Florent. So, in three days, you will have seen some of the most beautiful places along the north coast of the island.

A good advice: the motorcycle is the best way to enjoy this itinerary.
