Tamarone Beach, Corsica: for a day of total relaxation

It is located at the northern end of Cap Corse, the peninsula known as “Corsica’s finger”. A pristine and “wild” place, with a unique charm and a panorama that you will not forget so easily. The beach we are talking about is plage de Tamarone.
This will welcome you: a fifty-meters-long sandy beach surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. On one side of the beach, there are some low rocks, on many of which you can rest comfortably. The sea is simply crystal clear.
The first thing of Tamarone Beach that will surprise you will be the almost total silence in which it is immersed. In fact, you will enjoy the feeling of being far, far away from modernity, stress, and daily routine. For this reason, the beach is recommended for those who want to spend a day of total relaxation in a landscape characterized by untouched nature.
Since there aren’t services available and it is not so easy to reach, plage de Tamarone is not recommended during a holiday with children.
How to get there
Plage de Tamarone is located near the village of Macinaggio.
To get to Macinaggio from Bastia, one of the main ports for the ferries to Corsica, you only need to take the D80 road towards north and follow the road signs. The journey by car takes less than one hour.
From Macinaggio, you can get to plage de Tamarone in two ways:
- By car, following the road signs to punta di a Coscia and to the beach (there’s a parking area near the beach);
- Enjoying a pleasant walk along a part of the Sentier des douaniers (from Macinaggio, on the northeastern coast of the island, to Port de Centuri, on the northwest coast).
