In the picture you can see the main attraction of this locality of Corsica: the lake of Tolla. However, if you are a fan of running and are looking for a sort of “last minute idea” to organize a trip and practice your favorite sport, there is an event we can recommend: the 2018 edition of the Trail A Tuddinca, which will be held next June 3rd.
On the high mountain roads that surround the town of Tolla, runners will have the opportunity to participate in this 18-kilometer race that will end right on the shore of the lake. Do not be fooled by the “reduced” distance, because the Trail A Tuddinca will be able to drive you on dirt roads and with some differences in height that are quite difficult to tackle (but that certainly will not scare you).
Along the way, between mule tracks and former paths used by shepherds, you can admire the unique views offered by this area. Panoramas made of caves, valleys and unspoiled nature.
The mountains of Corsica
Do you think you will not be able to participate in this race but would you still like to spend a holiday with trekking boots and climbing on mountain paths? So, know that the mountains of Corsica can give you exactly this. In particular, the best for trekking are:
- Mount Grosso;
- Mount Cinto;
- Mount d’Oro;
- Paglia d’Orba;
- Mount Renoso;
- Mount Rotondo.
How to get
Ajaccio is one of the main ports where the ferries that take visitors to this island dock. And Ajaccio is located about thirty kilometers away from Tolla: taking the D3 eastbound and following the signs, the journey by car (which you can embark on the ferry) will take you just under an hour.
As already mentioned, Ajaccio is a short distance from Tolla. So why not take advantage of it to visit one of the most beautiful places in Corsica? Between beaches, charming islands and monuments, things to see in Ajaccio and surroundings are really many.
