Trail blanc de la Restonica: a peculiar running race in the snow

Corsica never ceases to amaze even in winter. In particular, if you are spending a holiday on the island of beauty in this period, there is a very special event you could watch: it is the Trail blanc de la Restonica 2018, which will take place on January 28^th at Corte.

The trail

The trail blanc is for experienced sportsmen. Because it is a 14-km-long race that takes place, literally, in the snow of the Restonica Valley, which is located in the northern part of the island. There are two paths: the first is for the more experienced and trained runner, while the second, simpler, is for the less experienced. In both cases, however, the participants will test their resistance.

Do you prefer something more “classic”?

The trail blanc can be considered as a sort of “characteristic event” to watch. Also because your winter sports concept is, so to speak, much more “orthodox”. In other words, you like skiing.

Well, the best places where to ski in Corsica are three

• Val d’Ese;
• Monte Renoso;
• Col de Vergio.

Here you will find everything you need to spend a pleasant ski holiday: slopes, ski-lifts, hotels.

Corte

It is a small and picturesque village, where you can feel a unique, suggestive and quiet atmosphere. And, above all, Corte is the town where is located the homonymous castle, one of the most beautiful in Corsica, an imposing structure that stands on a high rocky spur.

How to get there

From Ile-Rousse, one of the ports for ferries to Corsica, to get to Corte you just have to:

• Take the T30 road towards south;
• Take the T20 road following the road signs to Corte.

The journey by car takes less than one hour.
