Trail de Bonifacio: running with sight on the white cliffs

For you, every occasion is right to combine yours two great passions: running e trips, (not only in this order). Are you looking for the right pretext to put the running shoes in suitcase and to leave? We can give you it: it’s the 2017 edition of Trail de Bonifacio, which will be held October 29.

The race

Do you notice the white cliffs of Bonifacio? Yes, just the spectacular cliffs overlooking a fairytale sea that, every year, you’ve always come back to visit. To get there, just simply book a ferry to Corsica and land at Bonifacio.

The Trail de Bonifacio will take place right along the coast where the city rises. The route is 13 km long and winds along the old path used by customs officers. The race will take place almost entirely on dirt road, Mediterranean scrub, mild heights and sea views, simply, breathtaking.

Not just racing

October 29 is Sunday. We suggest you arrive on a Friday. So, waiting for the start of the race, you will have about a couple of days to visit one of the most beautiful cities of Corsica. You have to see Bonifacio, the Citadel, Eglise Sainte-Marie-Majeure and the Escalier du Roi d’Aragon.

And there is so much more. Because Corsica in the autumn remains a great destination for a trip: pleasant temperatures, tranquility, colors, scents and traditions typical of this season. After the race, you could start a small vacation.
