Ghisoni: a journey to Corsica where time seems to have stopped

It is one of the most beautiful places in Corsica and this would be enough to get an idea of the place you are about to visit. A place that is lying placidly on the heights of east-central Corsica, surrounded by mountains and forests. Ghisoni is in this small natural picture.

Reasons to visit Ghisoni

The main reason to visit Ghisoni is obvious: it is an ancient village, dating back to the Sixteenth century, that has preserved all its charm over the years. Time seems to have stopped in its narrow streets, in its small squares and in its ancient gates. This is the sensation that you will feel during  a visit to this place.

Sport

Ghisoni might be a good choice for sportsmen. For two main reasons:

• It is the starting point of excursions towards Monte Renoso, 2.352 meters high
• It is one of the places where to ski in Corsica: the ski resort is between 1.580 and 1.810 meters above sea level, it has seven ski runs, two ski lifts, a mountain refuge and a bar-restaurant.

How to get there

Ghisoni, as already said, is located at the central part of Corsica. You can easily drive from Ghisonaccia along the D344. You can arrive in Ghisonaccia along the N198 from Bonifacio or from Bastia.
